When we were at the store, it was packed even on a Monday evening where many of whom were regular customers.

Although foptics is essentially an eCommerce store at heart, it has a physical store (where you receive a complimentary eye test and try on different glasses before making a decision) in Chinatown as this is a requirement by law.

From the looks of its fancy looking website, you may think that foptics only caters to the younger generation, that is, only the shortsighted.

Buy Online or at a foptics store?

foptics does have a few new designs at their physical store that isn’t listed online yet. Dropping by the store is also good for those who are eager to try the glasses for themselves. Having gone down to the store to select our own specs, we can safely say that despite the low price, the glasses and service provided do not pale in comparison to other spectacles shops. The foptics team is very professional in what they do.

You can buy online if you know what your eye prescriptions are. 

If not, we recommend dropping by their store in Chinatown for a free comprehensive eye test before your first purchase. At the end of the eye exam, customers are handed info cards that contain their eye prescriptions. You can then easily make purchases online in the future since you already know your exact prescription. 

Better Opening Hours than a Regular Optical Store

The physical foptics store opens from 6-9 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-9 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 2-7 pm on weekends. But of course, you can always make your purchase online at any time.

You will find that the physical foptics store only opens in the evenings and you might be wondering what they do in the day. They run roadshows regularly at places ranging from corporates offices to universities in the day.

Delivery fees

For those who prefer the convenience, you may opt for unsecured stamp mail at $1.50 or secured delivery with tracking number at $5, which is highly recommended. Needless to say, self-collecting from the store itself would be free of charge.
