Do you remember the excitement of opening a Pokémon pack?

Or even the times that you and your friends would trade cards and battle with one another.

Looking back, you may feel that collecting Pokemon cards may have just been another childish hobby that you had.

However, fast forward to today, that same childish hobby has turned into a multi-million-dollar craze.

Enthusiasts spend thousands of dollars, chasing the top cards of each set for their collections or simply the thrill of pulling a valuable card.

But going to a card store may be inconvenient for some, and the prices of packs today may be a

What if there’s a new way to chase that excitement online and in the palm of your hand? Introducing Pokémon TCG Pocket (TCGP).

This mobile app game has taken the online community by storm, bridging die-hard Pokémon fans and casual online gamers, Pokémon TCGP is truly the new way to collect and battle with trading cards.

Exploring The Origins Of Pokémon Tcgp

Pokémon TCGP is a mobile application that offers a new way to play the standard Pokémon card game.

Unique from its traditional counterpart, TCGP features entirely new cards with unique attacks and effects, a simplified rule set, and many exclusive artworks with stunning online visual effects.

This blend of nostalgia and freshness caters to both seasoned players and newcomers.

You are entitled to two free booster packs daily, allowing you to relive the thrill of opening packs without spending a dime.

These cards that you open, will be added to your collection where they can be added to decks to engage in fast-paced and strategic battles.

The word “pocket” in “Pokemon TCG Pocket” itself is a double entendre.

First of all, Pocket refers directly to the portability nature of the game, which allows you to play it anywhere and anytime.📱

Second, it nods back to the etymology of Pokémon itself which is short for “Pocket Monsters”.

The Beginner Guide To Playing Pokémon TCGP

To begin, you must set a Basic Pokémon in the Active position and can set up to three Basic Pokémon on your Bench.

The player going first is limited to playing Basic Pokémon, using Item cards, and one Supporter, but cannot attach Energy, attack, or evolve a Pokémon that turn. 🔥

On the other hand, the second player has to make their moves later, but they can make more flexible moves like playing a single Supporter, any number of Items, and Basic Pokémon on the Bench.

Additionally, they can attach an Energy and attack on their first turn, making for a more dynamic gameplay experience.

When a Pokémon attacks, it deals damage to the defending Pokémon or a Pokémon on the Bench, and once that damage exceeds the Pokémon’s HP, it’s Knocked Out.

Each Pokemon is worth one point.

Powerful Pokémon, like ex Pokémon, are worth two points instead of one.

Once a player knocks out 3 points worth of the opponent’s Pokemon, they win.

This adds a new layer of strategy, as players must carefully manage their Pokémon and make the most of their powerful cards.

Pokémon TCG Vs Pokémon TCG Pocket

Unlike Pokémon TCG Live, which simulates the traditional TCG experience in a digital format, Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mobile-exclusive game and app.

It focuses on providing a streamlined, quick-play version of the game that is accessible anytime and anywhere from your mobile device.

This makes it perfect for casual play and for those looking to enjoy the Pokémon TCG in a more flexible, on-the-go manner.

Pokémon TCG Pocket offers a faster-paced experience, more suitable for mobile gameplay.📱

Deck sizes are smaller, with 20 cards instead of the traditional 60-card decks.

Cards with the same name and effects are limited to 2 per deck, and the opening hand consists of 5 cards.

Fewer Benched Pokémon and an “Energy Zone” mechanic replace the traditional method of attaching Energy cards directly to Pokémon.

Essentially, this means you won’t need to take space in your deck to include these cards, nor will you be forced to pass your turn without being able to attach an energy.

Gotta Catch ‘Em All In Pokémon TCGP

For those of us who love collecting Pokémon cards, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers a new and exciting way to do so.

Pokemon TCGP also allows you to collect cards in different languages, such as Japanese, French, and German, just by switching the language of the app or through the “Wonder Pick” feature.

Chasing down super rare cards is just one way to approach card collecting. 🃏

Depending on their interests, players can focus on tracking down cards to catch them all — or build a collection around a single favourite Pokémon.

The physical cards may be gone, replaced by digital ones, but the thrill of the hunt remains.

And the best part is you can do this daily for free.

Pokemon TCG allows you to open 2 packs for free every day, which means Free-To-play players would not feel the need to want to cash.

Pokémon TCGP Is Friendly To Free-To-Play Players

Pokémon TCG Pocket operates on a free-to-play model, with in-app purchases available.

For the in-app purchases, players can purchase Pokegold.

Pokegold can be used to speed up the timer of the 12-hour wait to open a new pack, creating a sort of paying-to-open pack.

Pokegold can also be used to buy other in-game items like cosmetics. 💅

Despite the ability to pay to open packs, cards can also be crafted with points that you can obtain for free.

This makes the game rather friendly to Free-To-Play players and less like a pay-to-win, which penalises players who do not put in real money
