Did you know Tampines was named after the Tempinis tree? It’s a type of timber tree that fills the entire district. I guess when they were clearing that area, they might as well remember the struggles of all the trees they had to cut!

Besides trees, Tampines has one of the most vibrant heartlands with rich attractions and I would say one of the most diverse culinary dishes! Let’s dive into the must-visit spots and hidden gems in Tampines!

Tampines Eco Green

If you’re someone who wants to be away from the busy streets and crowds, Tampines Eco Green would be the place for you! It is a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts and a perfect spot for bird-watching, nature walks, and even photography!

There are a few ways of getting there, you can start your journey with a 20 minutes walk through Sun Plaza Park from Tampines MRT. Alternatively, you can also take buses like 4,8,19,28,29,293 at the bus interchange!

There are a total of 3 short and simple trails that you can explore. Ranging from 0.8Km to 1.2Km, it will take you at least 1-2 hours to complete! So remember to bring your water bottles and towel and take that walk like a boss!

Note that there is no lighting at night so visitors are advised to leave by 7 pm! Unless you want to bring a torchlight!

Glasshouse Cafe

Did you know there is a cafe that is right beside a condo? And the best part is, it opens till 2 am on Friday and Saturday! 

Located right beside The Alps Residence Condo. This new cafe spot shows an overall glasshouse aesthetic, with a floor-to-ceiling window that shines natural light all day! This is also the perfect spot for socialising and studying if needed with its spacious layout.

The menu also features a wide range of variety. From artisanal coffees to hearty brunches, there are many options for you to choose from! My vegetarian friends, also provide vegetarian options so do check it out!

Our Tampines Hub

If you’re in a time crunch to explore Tampines, then exploring Our Tampines Hub (OTH) should be the top spot on your list! 

This integrated community and lifestyle hub provides you with a plethora of sports, dining options, and recreational activities! It also houses a regional library, sports complex and also a bowling alley at the basement!

Furthermore, OTH features multiple swimming pools (and for kids!), a gym with a view and an indoor running track that cuts through the library and the soccer field! If you’re looking for food to eat, there is a Hawker Centre at the center of the hub! 

With a wide range of activities for the adventurous and the relaxing ones, OTH is one of the spots for you to explore!
