Intense Marketing on Facebook and Instagram

Featuring celebrities, like Connor McGregor and the Kardashians, using their products, it promised guaranteed results of 2 shades whiter teeth (previously promised up to 8 shades whiter teeth but was stealthily rewritten on their website) with just 10 minutes of work, 3 simple steps and 6 days of time.

To sugarcoat it, even more, HiSmile also claimed that their gel will not cause any sensitivity or pain. And uses all-natural ingredients.

Sounds like a miracle right?

HiSmile Shortcut to White Teeth? Wishful Thinking Much!

No amount of brushing and flossing our teeth is ever enough to see an obvious change in the shade of our teeth. Those who were hopeful enough fell straight into the lion’s den. Just to be clear, the hopeful ones were large in numbers, as evident in HiSmile achieving an Alexa Traffic Rank of 83,000~

To put that traffic rank into perspective, HiSmile was started in 2014 with a 20,000 dollar investment and quickly generated 40 million of sales in just 3 years.

Purchasing sets of HiSmile teeth whitening kits at 59.99 USD each, the once faithful waited patiently for positively results that never came.

Reviews began to flop.

At the time of writing, HiSmile has an average 6.4/10 rating on Trustpilot.

Claims Debunked by a Dentist on YouTube

As the years go by, the number of influencers reviewing on HiSmile began to grow over-saturated. The reviews were always mixed until a professional Dentist, Dr Grant Mcgrath, put the product to the test.

He explains that positive results that are posted by influencers should be ignored, largely due to the fact that the lighting between before and after photos are almost never consistent (teeth became whiter, skin also became whiter).

Dr Grant also stated from a professional standpoint that the blue light that the whitening kit emits is not proven yet to help with whitening. This means that only the ingredients in the gel matters.

Here’s the rest of the video.

The Verdict

Sponsored or not, there are definitely results for using HiSmile, even if it minimal at the very least. At the end of the day, keeping up with the Kardashians is no easy feat and very much unnecessary.

Do also take note that results are never lasting with whitening products, depending on our diet. Touching up the whitening treatment is necessary and expensive.

Should you buy it? Depends on how rich you are.
