Bedok 85: A Food Lover’s Paradise
Source: Bedok 85
No visit to Bedok is complete without indulging yourself in the famous Bedok 85 Hawker Centre, also known as FengShan Market and Food Centre. This hawker centre is famous for its wide selection of delicious and affordable dishes!
Here are the must-try dishes when you visit:
Bak Chor Mee: This minced meat noodle dish is a Bedok 85 speciality. 2 famous stores that I would recommend are Xing Ji Rou Cuo Mian and Seng Hiang Bak Chor Mee. With its savoury broth and perfectly cooked noodles, it’s a famous dish among locals and tourists!
Sambal Stingray: Sambal Stingray is a staple dish when ordering at the Hawker Centre! It is a must-buy when it comes to eating at Bedok 85 Hawker. Chan BBQ offers one of the best Sambal Stingray around the hawker so do look out for them! (P.s. Waiting time might be insane so order quickly!)
Oyster Omelette: Another famous seafood dish is the Oyster Omelette. Commonly known as Orh Luak, this dish is a combination of oysters and a crispy mix of egg batter. This is one of the most commonly sold dishes at the Hawker Centre! I would recommend trying it from the Hup Kee Fried Oyster Omelette stall.
BBQ Chicken Wings: The Centre of all dishes, the BBQ Chicken Wings. If you are bringing your loved ones down, make sure to grab this before it’s sold out! These wings are life-changing when paired with a squeeze of lime for an extra zing! Ah Hwee BBQ Chicken Wings & Spring Chicken would be the store I definitely recommend!
A food lover’s paradise must be completed with a drink, and that is Sugar Cane! Most stores at the Hawker Centre actually provide hand-made sugar canes that are crushed in the grinding machine right at your face! Followed by a filter jug and into your very own plastic cup! Tip: I suggest paying for less ice so that you get the most value!
Location: 85 Bedok North Street 4, Singapore 460085
Opening Hours: Most stalls open daily, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM
With all these food recommendations and places to explore, it does make my heart go Bedok-Bedok! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Bedok promises a delightful balance of fun and food!
